The world of Vien.noir materialized from the artistic foundation of Opera Moderne and the Hot Box Girls International, the premier all-singing, all-dancing, musical variety burlesque troupe..

Founded in 2011 by Executive Director Rebecca Greenstein, Opera Moderne is a boutique opera company with high artistic value that presents engaging and eclectic vocal music. Opera Moderne's mission is to produce fully staged opera, concert works and musical theater in intimate settings; to offer artists the opportunity to perform rarely produced operatic and chamber works; to develop new audiences by combining opera with innovative multimedia and visual arts programming; to collaborate with artists outside of the music world.

Vien.noir expands that world by adding interdisciplinary arts to music and theatre, creating musically and visually spectacular performance experiences.

David Engel is the business manager and acting treasurer for Vien.noir and Verein Opera Moderne Wien. Mr. Engel facilitates the booking side of Vien.noir Events Management sector with a specialization in culture coordination and budgeting.
